Invention – The Twitter Contest

Contest is Live. Qubits on Shark Tank U.S. Residents only.

What does it take to be an inventor?

First you need inspiration and imagination.

To provide inspiration for kids, we suggest purchasing  a Qubits® Construction Toy Qubits® Construction Toy.

But you can use your ingenuity to possibly win a kit of Qubits® by Tweeting.  To get your contest link, head to the bottom of this page.

All of the items below provide the necessary steps in creating our toy. Maxon Cinema-4D software for 3-D design, Solid Prototyping for product development, Business cards for promotion, and of course many cups of coffee.

So now we bring together this fine contest for you Tweeps, so now go out and spread the word with Tweets, emails, links and YouTube comments that will gain you points. There are literally dozens of ways to tell others about this contest, each technique will gain you points which in turn counts like raffle tickets at a church bazaar. The more points you have, the more raffle tickets you control.  The drawing is random, so there is no guarantee the person with the most raffle tickets will win, but it does increase your odds.

This is one of the biggest contests we have had on Tweet and Win.

Have fun and tweet responsibly, make up your own message, just remember to include your special link.

How It Works

We’ll create a contest for you that may become a viral contest because we’ll award points or tickets to your customers or website users in exchange for sending them tweets on twitter or posting their links on Facebook. They can even put the link out there own a blog too for more exposure and more clicks which would equal more tickets Your own customers will spread the word using the twitter promotion and tell everyone about your website in exchange for entries into a contest.

What would be a good prize to offer people that would participate in a Twitter contest? Well, you can give away anything that would be considered valuable to contestants or customers. For instance, you could give out free products or services, gift cards, cash (paypal) or anything depending on your advertising or marketing budget. You could even create a survey to find out what kinds of prize your customers would want to win.

That’s right! A good Twitter contest can bring viral traffic to your website. For instance, let’s say that you have a Twitter contest and you are giving away a gift card. One person with 1000 followers on Twitter sends a tweet about your contest. Then let’s say that 500 of his followers retweet or enter the contest. Then it could go viral and people all over the place would know that your site, product or service exists. Think of the potential customers and the publicity you could receive in the land of social media.

This is where Tweet and Win comes in. We can build a Twitter contest on one of our pages, set up the links to your site that people are going to tweet out and then watch as people tweet and retweet links back to your page. While contestants are doing this they are having fun trying to get tickets (tickets=Tweets) to be entered into the drawing. The more times a person Tweets or gets others to click the links to your site, the better the chance that person has of getting their name picked randomly by the contest software.

Twitter’s Rules for Having a Contest Using Twitter.

This is straight from Twitter’s support page.

Before having a contest using Twitter as a platform there are somethings you have to take in consideration. Here are some tips for having a contest using Twitter. These tips are also good for contestants.

Businesses, organizations, and even some swanky individuals have hosted contests through their Twitter profile. Contests on Twitter may offer prizes for tweeting a particular update, for following a particular user, or for posting updates with a specific hashtag.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about hosting a contest using your Twitter profile? You probably also want to make sure your contest doesn’t ask anyone to violate any of Twitter’s rules or guidelines.

Great! Here are some simple guidelines for running contests on Twitter:

  • Discourage the creation of multiple accounts: If users make lots of accounts in order to enter a contest more than once, they’re liable to get all of their accounts suspended. Please be sure to include a rule stating that anyone found to use multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible.
  • Discourage posting the same tweet over and over (and over) again: Posting duplicate, or near duplicate, updates or links is a violation of the Twitter Rules and jeopardizes search quality. Please don’t set rules to encourage lots of duplicate updates (like saying, “whoever retweets this the most wins”). Your contest could cause users to be automatically filtered out of Twitter search. Plus, instead of their followers seeing your cool contest, their followers might start getting annoyed by your contest. You might want to set a clear contest rule stating that multiple entries in a single day will not be accepted.

  • Ask users to include an @reply to you in their update so you can see all the entries: When it comes to picking a winner, you’ll want to see all the contestants. If the updates include @username mention to you, you’ll be able to see all the updates in your Mentions timeline (see here for more information on replies and mentions). Just doing a public search may not show every single update, and some contestants may be filtered from search for quality.
  • Encourage the use of topics relevant to the contest: You might decide to have users include relevant hashtag topics along with the updates (like #contest or #yourcompanyname). Keep in mind that hashtag topics need to be relevant to the update; encouraging users to add your hashtag to totally unrelated updates might cause them to violate the Twitter Rules.

These guidelines should help keep your contest entrants in good standing. In general, make sure you review both the Twitter Rules and our search best practices before starting your contest. If you’re a business on Twitter, you might also want to check out the Twitter 101 for Business guide for more information and tips.

Thanks!

Twitter Contests

Twitter Contests

Everybody loves contests. Everybody loves to win stuff on Twitter. I know I do. Tweet and Win.net is the only site of it’s kind to host twitter contests with real-time stats. Contestants can go directly to a page to see where they stand in a contest.

There are two types of Twitter contests.

Random drawings based on points – Each point or tweet is like getting a raffle ticket. The more tickets you get, the better the chance of winning.

Straight up points – These contests are good except some people will just open a Twitter account just to tweet your contest without anyone spreading the message.  We prefer the random drawing because it is most fair even to the inexperienced Twitter user.

If you would like a twitter contests for your business or website, please feel free to contact us. As you can see, these Twitter contests really spread like wildfire.  There’s more to Twitter than just tweeting. People can actually win your product.
